Wade also ran the team's on-water spares and repair team. It was his job to be sure they had all possible spares needed to facilitate a last minute repair or in the event of a large issue, to get the boat home safely with the equipment on the water. This included recovery tools and bladders etc in the event of a capsize. Cutting tools for a rig down, chainsaw and cut off wheels, right down to hand tools, spare running rigging blocks, entire winches, Hydraulic rams, boat building supplies and electronics. Anything needed they had on hand.
